About Axis Football League

Axis Football League is the browser game that grew into the Axis Football series. It is a complete simulation: a playbook of formations on offense and defense, pre-snap adjustments, a play clock and a full game of four quarters. You control the quarterback after the snap, choose which receiver to hit, and on defense you take over whichever player is closest to the ball.

It rewards football knowledge more than any other game here. A screen pass into a blitz, a draw play against a nickel defense or a cover-two look on third and long all work the way they should.

How to Play Axis Football League

1. Pick a team and a game mode.
2. Call plays from the playbook on offense and defense before each snap.
3. After the snap, control the quarterback and throw to a receiver, or take over a defender.
4. Manage the clock and the down-and-distance through four quarters to win.

Controls

• Arrow keys: move the player you control.
• Space: snap the ball, or switch to the nearest defender.
• A, S, D, F: throw to the receiver with that label.

Tips and Tricks

• Mix run and pass. The computer defense keys on tendencies, so the same play three times in a row will be stopped.
• On defense, blitz on obvious passing downs and drop into coverage when a run is likely.
• Do not switch defenders while a pass is in the air unless you are sure of the catch; a bad switch leaves a receiver wide open.
• Use the whole play clock to read the defense before the snap.
